Lucy Fine

Lucy Fine is a certified professional coach with more than 25 years of professional experience. She provides coaching and consulting to individual executives, partnerships, teams and emerging leaders in the government, nonprofit and corporate arenas. Lucy facilitates strategic planning, multi-stakeholder decision-making, conflict resolution and value-added negotiation practices. She helps individuals focus on what is possible by removing the personal barriers that keep them from transitioning easily.

For the past seven years, Lucy has provided individual coaching to executives from consulting firms, law firms, publishing firms and engineering firms, as well as to managers from nonprofit and government organizations. As a Corporate Scenes coach, she has been a key contributor to leadership development and coaching at Sandia National Laboratories.

Lucy's coaching framework is based on a system-centered approach that helps clients develop the skills to identify and explore the roles and contexts of the individual, the group and the broader organization. Her approach to coaching supports the understanding and awareness that fosters emotional intelligence while encouraging the alignment between individual goals and talents and the strategic goals of the organization. From her extensive training in dance, martial arts and yoga, Lucy also draws awareness to the mind/body connection to enhance leadership competency.

Lucy has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has been a clinical faculty supervisor for group leaders at the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine (Psychiatry department). Her professional associations include the American Group Psychological Association, the Professional Mentors and Coaches Association, and the System-Centered Training and Research Institute. Before executive coaching, Lucy worked as a registered nurse and a midwife. She also had a 20-year practice as a psychotherapist.

She holds a B.A. from Antioch College, a B.S. from the University of California-San Francisco, and a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. Lucy received her coaching certification, as well as leadership development certification, from the Coaches Training Institute in 2000.
